A perfect weekend for camping

Went camping with Los Horns this weekend and it was a blast. It was our first time to Lake Somerville and my first time geo-caching.

Here are some snaps (which I didn't take because my phone ran out of batteries!).

Love thy Neighbor

We are so lucky to have awesome neighbors. Last week Cruz and I were graced with a long visit from the lovely Mia and her brother Evan (not pictured here). Cruz really loves them, and so do I. I love watching them play, doing things that I used to love to do as a kid and wish I did more of as an adult.

As if playing on its own wasn't a great benefit of having them over, he napped for three...glorious...hours. That was worth its weight in gold!

Free little libraries

Rifled through my mom's garage to put up the first Free Little Library in Crestview (that I know of)! I'm excited to see if anyone uses it. Lord knows I need to (half the books in there are on my to-read list, but I figure they might be better use to someone else while they wait for me.)

Our sister-hood, Brentwood, has it's first library up as well. I am going to pop by there soon!

Rocked it this weekend

While the young'ins were downtown for SXSW festivities, I was in my yard updating our rock garden. Mulch + our old river rock + Kangaroo plants + free limestone from Leander = Love.

It's SXSW in Austin

Austin is the self-proclaimed "Live Music Capital of the World," and what better way to celebrate SXSW 2012 than host your own band at home. I'm so hipster.

Morning, Sunshine

Friday was my neighbor Sunshine's birthday, so for breakfast, Cruz made her some chocolate covered strawberries and blueberries. He may or may not have snatched a few for himself.

Put a bird on it

This was once a cute little Craigslist find for Cruz. Enter in 2 over-tired toddlers with pencils and playdough.

Never fear...Mommy put a bird on it...and a lion...and a hippo. I had some extra fabric from an unfinished (aka never started) craft project.

Tada - 3 hours later. I never said I could sew straight!

Since I didn't have the patience to measure correctly, I totally MacGyver'd it so he couldn't pull it off.
